Sompo Japan Travel Insurance Japan may apply an automatic extension of the insurance period for customers who are unable to leave Japan by the end of the insurance period.<\/div>\n

Although the automatic extension is stipulated in the terms and conditions, if it is affected by an infectious disease such as coronavirus (COVID-19), the cases that are subject to automatic extension will be expanded.<\/div>\n

(The rules regarding the automatic extension deadline vary depending on the reason)
\nIf you cannot leave Japan by the end of the insurance period due to the following reasons, automatic extension is possible up to 72 hours <No procedure required>
\n\u2460 Delay or cancellation \/ cancellation of the insured’s boarding or planned boarding, whose operating time is fixed
\n\u2461 Unable to board due to inadequate transportation reservation reception work
\n\u2462 The insured was treated by a doctor, etc.<\/div>\n

In addition to the above, if you are unable to leave Japan by the end of the insurance period due to the following reasons, etc.
\n\u2460 Unlawful control by a third party or restraint by public authority over the transportation system that the insured is boarding as a passenger or the facility where the insured is admitted
